journey用法最一般，通常用于指陆地上的旅行，距离远、时间长，而且不一定要返回出发地；
voyage通常用于指水上的旅行；
journey与voyage是比较正式的用语，trip在非正式情况下可替代两词中任何一个，这往往使人联想到时间短、距离近的旅行，该旅行最后返回到出发地；
travel指一个人到居住地以外的地方所做的短暂旅行，但不一定要呆在那里；
tour指到许多地方观光游览，通常指路线的曲折；
excursion较trip和tour正式，强调暂时离开某地并返回原地的旅行。可以指海上或陆地上的旅行，也可以指一次短期外出；
pilgrimage指到具有宗教或感情意义的地方去朝拜；与之相反，jaunt尤指消遣性或娱乐性的短期外出（a week—end jaunt to Paris）

Journey(n.)---“旅行”,“旅程”。普通用语，指陆地上的远程旅行。
Tour(n.)---“周游”。指途中在许多地方作短暂停留的观光游览。
Trip(n.)---“旅行”。指来往有定的短距离旅行,强调在路上所花的时间和所走的路程。
Travel(n.)---“旅行”。惯用复数形式。泛指旅行各地,表示旅行的路途远,时间长。
