compare

comparable
1. 可比较的[(+with)]

这几组数字是不可比的。
2. 比得上的[(+to)]
The music of Irving Berlin is scarcely comparable to that of Beethoven.
欧文·伯林的音乐很难与贝多芬的媲美。

所以通过比较，不难看出，第一个做动词用，第二个是“相对的”意思，3th是“可以和...比较的”

compare,动词，比较We compared the two leaves carefully.（我们仔细地比较了两片叶子。）
comparative,形容词，相对的 Then he was living in comparative comfort.（那时他过这一种相对舒适的生活。指和别人比）
comparable 形容词，可比较的The situation in the US is not directly comparable to that in the UK.（美国的情况与英国的不能直接相比。）
