like并非作“像”来讲（那是介词，需接系动词才行)，而是作“喜欢”来解释。
这句话源于欧美国家的一个小笑话或者说谚语，揭示了社会上人与人之间冷淡有隔阂的残酷现实：与人打交道还不如自己忠实的宠物狗交流，其实，这其中并没有用狗来突出对人的讽刺，因为在欧美国家，尤其在美国，狗被认为是人类最忠实，最有灵性的动物朋友，它的地位并不亚于人类。
照字面来理解，就译为“我交往的人越多，就越渴望与我的狗交流”。
所谓 “人不如狗”的说法就有点太过了。
