1.选D 这里的we could是有前面的as much time as连起来用的，而不是与study连用。总的as much time as we could是做spend的状语。因为spend后面跟动名词，所以要用studying.
2.变化后并不错，只是这是习惯用法，没必要。而且英语和汉语思维不同。变过后看起来有点像Chinglish
