1). 这里的bicycle是泛指，不是特指，所以为0冠词。
2). 这里的are已经不是定语从句中的一部分。我们可以把定语从句暂且不看。原句就成了The number of people are decreasing. 这时就可以看出这里的系动词指的是the number,因此应该用"is".
bicycle 是可数名词, 应该有冠词的, 但也可以用名词复数表示一个类别的事物.
我认为这都是原文的错误. 该用bicycles
第二个问题: 用is 是正确的, 因为数目再大, 它也只是一个数, 应该当作单数处理.
bicycle指的是这种事物,而并不是特别指出什么,表示的是这一类别.
我觉得第二个问题应该把are改成is,因为主语应该是the number of people ,说的是人们的数量,而后边的定语从句是用来修饰什么样的人的.既然是数量,也就是一个数字,所以应该用单数is.
只是我的个人意见哦!
bicycle不是特指,是泛指一个类别.
第二个问题我也有点混.
最后一个从语法角度上来判断，应该加the
不能，坚决不能。
