what sb.+ do./what is was + done.what 在从句中充当主语/宾语/表语。
where sb.+do where 在从句中充当状语。
who do + sth who 在从句中充当主语
that sb + do + sth. that 在从句中不充当成分，只起引导作用，但在引导主语/表语从句时不可以省略。

what可以引导一个句子做主语从句，如：what I want is money.
where 可以做状语从句。I used to live in a house ,where my father lived .

你好，其实这到问题比较复杂，不是几句话能说明白的，因为这几个连接副词代词还有连词that 可以引导几乎所有类型的从句（名词性，形容词性和状语从句）。所以，如果您有时见的话，还是看看语法书。
本人拙见：what where who when 它们在从句中充当成分，而且有本身的含义。而that在名词性从句中没有意义，也不做成分。在定语从句中如果做主语不能省略。
