The Group of Eight strongly believes that ability to succeed, not ability to pay, should remain the central criterion for access to, and academic progress at all universities.
Group of Eight equity and merit scholarships provide a greater opportunity for bright students from low socio-economic backgrounds to study at a Group of Eight university, complementing a range of scholarships already provided by the eight universities.
The scholarships, which are targeted primarily at school leavers, are transferable between Go8 universities.
Each scholarship is worth between $3000 and $6000 per annum and each university offers four scholarships per year.
Students who are completing Year 12 and are commencing tertiary studies next year are eligible to apply. Conditions vary and applications and enquiries should be made to the individual universities.
