To be honest I don't think you can go wrong where Harrison Ford is concerned, the man just doesn't make bad movies. While Six Days Seven Nights is probably not going to win any awards it's certainly a wonderful feel good, light hearted movie to watch. Harrison Ford usually takes on more dramatic roles and rightly so, he's good at them. However, this movie shows that he's also very good at comedy. Anne Heche is Robin Monroe, the Assistant Editor of "Dazzle" magazine in New York. David Schwimmer is her boyfriend Frank Martin. Six Days Seven Nights gets straight to the point. Frank produces a couple of tickets for a dream vacation. After arriving at the islands they need to take a quick charter flight to the actual island they will be vacationing on. Enter Harrison Ford as Quinn Harris, a charter pilot who has given up big time flying and is now happy to fly his own plane back and forth around the islands of the South Pacific. He has left behind the big cities for the idyllic island lifestyle. Not wanting to fly in his rather old looking plane but with no other choice, Frank and Robin use Quinn's service. Accompanying them on the flight is Quinn's occasional girlfriend/bed partner.That night after dinner, Frank proposes to Robin, she accepts and of course she gets the inevitable phone call from her Editor to tell her she has to leave for about 15 hours to supervise a photoshoot on an island not far away. Much to Franks distress she goes, having barterd with Quinn to the sum of $700 to fly her out.Bad weather erupts, a very funny scene with some tranquilisers takes place and what do you know...they crash land and are now on a deserted island with only one flare to summon help. As with most movies, they start of not being able to stand one another, circumstances evolve (mainly in the shape of pirates...and nasty ones at that) and they realise that there is indeed a sexual attraction between them. I won't go any further into the plot but suffice to say a lot of tension builds up (of the sexual type) and it now becomes a plot of "will they or won't they?"Meanwhile back at the ranch (or should I say hotel) Frank and Quinns' lady friend are going out of their minds with worry and are doing all they can to search for the lost twosome.There are some very funny scenes in this movie. Both Ford and Heche have a magnetism that draws you in. This movie is light with a few heavy bits thrown in. If you like movies where you don't have to do too much thinking, where you can just sit back, laugh a bit, get caught up in the will they won't they scenario, watch a bit of action and basically just feel good...this is the movie for you.
