我印象中加拿大技术移民不接收托福成绩，只能去考雅思G类--移民类。
当年我是考的雅思G类，说实话，不算难。而且移民要求的分数不高，当年考的时候， 作文写跑题，才得了4.5分，但总分6.5，还是顺利移民加拿大了。
另外, 1--2年时间学习英语时间太长了。半年足以！ 拖的越久，之后反而会放弃。我那会就是利用周末去读的雅思培训班，然后直接考雅思。全下来也就半年的时间。
所以，我个人建议楼主考虑雅思G类。

以我个人经验，想技术移民加拿大，考托福比较好。尤其考虑到加拿大离美国近，托福是美国英语，有利于以后到美国发展。同时加拿大素受美国影响远甚英国。

Language capacity is part of the 6 requirements to quality for skilled labour category.

The requirement is English/French proficiency, demonstrated by either subjectively your performance in interview or objectively your test scores. If you master English like an native does, you don't need TOEFL or IELTS or University of Toronto Test. Your fate will be at the mercy of the visa officer.

Both IELTS and TOEFL will be fine. Passing these tests will not help you at all in Canada or USA. Employers will not consider them.

I would suggest most Chinese applicants pass the English test, particularly IELTS.
