a sixth表示六分之一(分数);或者在已经有5个的基础上再增加一个,如:I want a sixth one.
the sixth表示第六个(序数词)

a sixth是在没有范围的时候讲，the sixth是有范围的
比如在给我一瓶啤酒可以说：
please give me a second bottle of beer.

Can I have a sixth apple?
