You didn't say what type of application you have submitted. As a general rule, a medical is good for 12 months. If your last medical is still good enough, ask your doctor to send all results to Citizenship and Immigration Canada, with reference to your client identification number.

Skilled labour takes about 5 years to approve. Parents need 5 years. Spouse and children are fast, about 12 to 18 months. Investment (federal programs) needs 12 months. Investment (provincial programs) varies from a few to 12 months.

Children sponsorship is usually fast, within a few months only. Your mother should have submitted the sponsorship which has been approved. The consulate office in Beijing should have sent you the package of application which I assume you should have submitted as well. In the application package, usually there are request for medical and police clearance. This is the key. If you have that, you should have gone to the doctor's office and the local police to have them completed. If you did not, you should receive it very soon. You said you have done medical, so you should have received your report. Did you make a photocopy of the reports? Always make a photocopy of all document you submit to the consulate office.

Usually, the approval will be granted within 12 months from the time you submit your application and all supporting documents as well as the medical and police clearance.
