Things were starting to come together in my own life. I worked as a tap dancer in Atlantic City one summer on a show called Uptown…It's Hot! It ended up on Broadway. Theater work came fairly steadily after that. I got my big break in Once on This Island in 1990. I earned a Tony nomination. I wasn't disappointed not to win. Just to be nominated was the thrill of my life! The only thing missing was someone to share my life with.
