I am very pleased to present a brief introduction of myself.
In June 1986, I was born in the beautiful, ancient city ----Yangzhou. I was an only child born into an ordinary family, with parents as factory workers. Throughout these years, my parents have taught me to be a good boy and to work diligently no matter what the subject.
I did well in the elementary and junior high school at my hometown, and at the age 15, I was admitted to ** senior high school of ** Province, a prestigious high school in the county. I received an excellent education there. After three years of hard work, I learned many things—ranging from science to arts. Through this, my value of the world has changed gradually. I received a great honor when I won the first prize of the National English Competition and the third prize of Biology Competition of **Province in the second year. After graduation, I came to the Chemical Engineering Department of **University .
During my 3 years stay in the university that led me into the world of chemical engineering up until now, not only did I spend great efforts studying, but also I paid attention to things outside of class. Enjoying all the courses and trying my best, I won the first prize of the scholarship three times and the third once, a solid evidence to my hard work, maybe (though I believe scores and talent can’t be equalized). In addition to chemistry, I have a variety of interests, reading, writing, singing, and especially learning foreign languages. About two years ago, I joined the Secretary Department of the Students’ Union. The amount of work I had to endured has trained me a lot and has given me valuable experience on handling matters. It has also taught me to see things from different perspectives. Besides that, I exerted my strong suit of writing as a member of the Journalist Party of the school, doing interviews and writing reports. With the experience I have accumulated, I am now familiar with English and I have also mastered some Japanese. Other than these two language, I have also learned and practiced some German. Recently, my attentions are focused on the subject of the Creativity Funds of our department, which in my opinion, relates what we have learned (theoretical study) with practical applications. I strongly believe that the actual practice and theoretical study are equally important and dependent on each other. My love for my major has encouraged me to apply for a postgraduate school of chemical engineering in the coming year.
My goal in the future is to get a Ph.D. degree. I will concentrate on the field of chemical engineering, and try my best to make a breakthrough on this subject.
